Antique Lace Trim

Lace trim is often machine made and then hand stitched onto garments, curtains, handkerchiefs and other fabric. While refined ladies and girls learned to make lace and embroidery at home, children were often found working on lace in New York City sweat shops. This situation later inspired the Child Labor Laws in America.
