Embroidered cap and collar

Photograph at the Library Of Congress, entitled: Lace cap and collar made by Antonia Ford Willard… The intricate leaf and flower design (daisy) for a baby's bonnet and collar was created by Antonia Willard (1838-1871) while incarcerated at the Old Capitol Prison in Washington, D.C. on charges of spying for the Confederate Army during the Civil War.
